The 6 Must-Have Tools for Affiliate Marketing Management

When it comes to affiliate marketing management, the right tools can make all the difference. However, these tools can also get pricey, so what do you really need to prioritize? In our humble opinion, there are six(ish) essential tools worth investing in that will streamline your processes and elevate your program.

1. Mailchimp

Let’s kick things off with Mailchimp. Many affiliate platforms have basic newsletter capabilities that often leave something to be desired. I want our communications to feel exciting and stand out in the inbox. That’s why I design all our newsletters on Mailchimp. I have a range of templates ready for everything from product launches to seasonal promotions and special deals. Plus, I can easily use the HTML from Mailchimp and integrate it into Impact, our affiliate platform of choice.

2. Zapier (and Asana)

Next up is Zapier, paired with Asana. We love leveraging automation to simplify our lives. I set up a welcome email flow triggered by specific tags in Asana. When I add an email as a task in Asana and apply a tag, Zapier takes care of sending the email automatically. I use this same setup for our one-month follow-up emails, making it incredibly efficient. It’s just one simple step to ensure those important emails get sent out!

3. SEMRush

SEMRush is another powerhouse in our toolkit. We utilize it in a couple of ways, primarily to analyze competitor backlinks. This helps us identify potential affiliates who could join our program. Additionally, I assess the performance of both prospective and onboarded affiliates. For instance, if I have an affiliate promoting clogs and their articles are already ranking well with good organic traffic, I know they’re a prime candidate to leverage for our campaign. SEMRush helps me make informed choices that drive results.

4. Canva

For any design-related needs, Canva is my go-to. When it comes to creating affiliate marketing materials, it’s a game-changer. I have our brand palette and fonts uploaded, so if I need to whip up a quick banner ad or email header, I can dive into Canva and get the job done in no time. We also encourage our affiliates to request custom creative, so being able to produce these materials quickly and efficiently is crucial.

5. Mailsuite

Mailsuite is a handy tool that integrates with Outlook, allowing me to see if recipients have opened my emails. This feature is invaluable when reaching out to potential new affiliates or sending important information to onboarded affiliates, such as contracts. Knowing when someone has engaged with my emails helps me follow up effectively.

6. Hunter

Last but not least is Hunter, my favorite tool for setting up drip campaigns. I conduct most of my outreach through Hunter, where I input my outreach messages. The potential affiliate receives a series of emails until they respond or unsubscribe. Additionally, Hunter is great for finding email addresses. You can input a name and domain or just a domain to generate potential emails. This functionality is a key part of our outreach process, helping us connect with the right partners.

Conclusion

In the world of affiliate marketing management, having the right tools at your disposal can streamline your processes and enhance your program’s effectiveness. While these tools may come with a price tag, the value they provide makes them well worth the investment. By incorporating these essentials into your strategy, you’ll be well on your way to building a successful affiliate program that drives results.
